The Creation of my Bird of Paradise Plant Reduction Lino Print

A Strelitzia, or as it’s more commonly known as a Bird of Paradise Plant, a wonderfully bright and joyful flowering plant that are native to South Africa. Often called a crane flower by many South Africans, the "bird of paradise" name is also commonly used because of the flower's resemblance to a bird in flight

I usually only create plants in my work and one day felt the need to try creating flowers too. My Bird of Paradise Plant Reduction Lino Print is my very first, and hopefully not last, attempt at Lino Printing a flower

I just loved the vivid pop of colour this plant produces and felt it would lend its self well with the Reduction Printing method

Below are all the stages that make up Bird of Paradise Plant
