1 – For the Cacti Lovers
Many of my botanical Lino prints and metal creations are based on my very own cacti collection. I just love how spiky and evil they can be, and they can be very easy to look after. So if the spiky devilishly plants are what they love too then look no further than my Cactus Lino Prints and Botanical Metal Sculptures. Perfect to add a splash of colour on those walls or as a little special blingy unique gift
This beautiful Brass Metal Sculpture has been made using traditional silversmithing techniques and depicts two Cacti plants. Brass is a lovely metal to work with and has a golden yellow quality that makes it shine beautifully in the light. This littlun, along with others, can be found in my Sculptures Shop
Echinocactus Grusonii may be bit of a mouthful but It’s of a Globe Cactus that many of us owned at some time or another. So if you’re looking for something with a few more prickles then this colourful Lino print would make a great creative gift for cacti plant lovers. This and more colourful botanical Lino Prints can be found in my Colourful Botanical Lino Prints
If you’re looking for a more traditionally black and white Lino print then my Prickly Pear Cactus Botanical Linocut Print is just right plus you get three cacti in one go. Marvellous. This and many more can be found in my Black and White Botanical Lino Prints Shop
2 – Two Botanical Lino Prints for the Swiss Cheese Plant Lovers
After a quick web search I found out that Swiss Cheese Plants aka Monstera deliciosa are meant to represents suffocation because of their fast growing leave, vines and and aerial roots. Well that’s a bit grim so I think I’ll stick with the Chinese who think of this magnificent plant as a meaning of a long life and the honouring of elders and respected people.
I really do love these plants, because of their large beautiful luscious green leaves. They are real architectural statement plant to have in your home. However they can get rather enormous, so if space is an issue, then my Swiss Cheese Plant Lino Prints could be just the thing and don’t need much room at all
Swiss Cheese Plant II is a bright and colourful with bold hot pinks and popping golden yellows. Just perfect way to add a splash a colour in the home. It was made using the Reduction Lino Printing method and consists of 9 layers
Swiss Cheese Plant III is a slightly more muted Lino print with its softer greens and reds but it still packs a statement punch
3 – Botanical Lino Prints for under £20
If you’re on a budget then I do have plenty of Botanical Lino Prints for under £20, including my brand new mini Lino Print range. These little beauties come mounted on a canvas and come with their own display easel. Just perfect as a little stocking filler
4 – Money, Money, Money aka The Money Tree Plant variety
I do love a juicy Money Tree Plant and their plump little leaves. I do get drawn to these plants and I have quite a few scattered around my home and studio. So it’s no great surprise that you will find quite a few depicted in my work too, from the bright and colourful, the black and white ones to the metal sculptures and in a wide price range. So many to choose from in fact
Did you know Money Tree Plants are believed to bring you good luck and wealth? This has come about as the leaves can, to a certain degree, resemble coins, and many more plants can be grown from just the one leaf, hence bringing good luck and wealth. So what a great gift for your plant loving near and dearest, not only does it have a great meaning but my Tree of Good Fortune Lino Print is full of colour that is bound to make anyone happy. It does for me, as it has my favourite colour combo of orange and hot pink
I loved making this tiny Turquoise Botanical Sculpture. Made using copper and then using a technique called Cold Enamelling to apply the gorgeous turquoise colouring. It was a fun process to learn and to use.
This and all my other Botanical Metal Sculptures are one offs so they would make a really unique special gift for someone
If monochrome is more their thing then I do have a number of black and white botanical Lino Prints with juicy Money Trees in them, including this beautiful Crassulas (Money Tree Plant) Lino Print showing two different varieties of the succulent
5 – Make a Statement and Go Big
If space isn’t a problem, then I do have a few larger Botanical Lino Prints such as my Rubber Tree Plant Lino Prints made using the Reduction Lino Printing method.
Rubber Tree Plants are meant to represent abundance, happiness and wealth and according to the teachings of Feng Shui the rubber plant’s curvy leaves make them ideal to be placed in the corners of a room in order to soften sharp angles. I can’t guarantee my Rubber Tree Plants will do the same thing but I’m sure they would make the receiver full of happiness
This striking trio would look great as a statement piece. Available individually as Rubber Plant I, Rubber Plant II and Rubber Plant III and there may be an option to buy as a trio, just get in touch via my Contact Me page
